Or VO offers a complete Neutrino that includes a unique 1×10 build for $2500 now ($2700 come fall). ![]() The bike is available on its own as a frameset now for $675 (down from regular price of $750 when it comes in stock in the fall) for anyone who wants to build it up to their choosing. VO is offering it now for pre-order at a discount, for deliveries in October 2019. And while VO doesn’t offer a bag yet, rumor has it that one is in the works, maybe ready as soon as this bike is later in 2019?Įven though we have the full details on the new Neutrino, it isn’t quite available yet. It is also said to fit in a Rinko bag (a Japanese style bag for taking your bike on the train by removing the wheels). Velo Orange says the small frame is able to pack down in the box they ship the frame to airline acceptable sizing, making it cheap to travel with. The bottom bracket is standard threaded, and it uses a 31.6mm seatpost for stiffness with all that extension (but also making it compatible with a dropper seatpost – external routing only, though.) All cable routing is external to keep things simple (and easy to pack) with downtube cable clamps. Overall the frame offers three more bottle cage mounts on the main triangle, with a 2-position mount on top of the downtube. Dropouts for frame & fork stick with quick releases for simplicity & backwards compatibility. Out back the Neutrino gets all that same versatility thanks to slider dropouts & more braze-ons on the seatstays – run it geared, single speed, or with an internally geared hub. That straight 1.125″ steerer, unicrown fork may only be for a 20″ wheel, but it gets mounts for full fenders, traditional or porteur/randonneur racks, plus anything cage mounts too. The double-butted 4130 chromoly Neutrino is first and foremost a versatile bike to take out and ride with no limits, and it gets enough braze-ons to bolt up anything you could imagine for commuting, bikepacking, or classic touring. Take it on tour, or home after work.įor more information from Velo Orange click here. That will also go a long way to smoothing out the ride, as some mini-velos with too skinny tires can feel harsh since the smaller wheels don’t rollover bumps in the road quite as well. Drops or flats, knobby or smooth, road or gravel, they’ve seen the Neutrino shine in so many configurations – even some ebike conversions! The Neutrino is unique but wildly versatile, making it a great all-arounder. This gives it the benefit of being easy to manoeuvre in smaller spaces, carry up stairs, store in smaller spots, and travel with, while making it a familiar and comfortable ride. It’s smaller and lighter than a more traditionally sized bike, but is designed to have the feel and handling of a full-sized frame. They’ve seen a surprising amount of people use the Neutrino for full-fledged touring, though I suppose that isn’t truly surprising, as its design inspiration is having a manageable size for traveling and navigating urban environments. No need to fish around for the cable and housing. Like many of their other offerings, a small tube is brazed into the downtube allowing for easy housing installation. If you choose to forgo the dropper post, the internal routing can easily be utilized for your rear brake set-up for a clean look. A necessity to up the rad-factor, it also helps the frame fit in Rinko bags, or if you just want the advantage of quick transitions from in and out of the saddle. In addition to the colour change, this iteration of the Neutrino minivelo is dropper post compatible. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Neutrino still has all the goodies you know and love – beautiful wishbone seatstays, braze-ons out the wazoo, and let’s not forget the kickstand plate that lets you park your steed (or pony?) with ease. The silver downtube decal similarly adds both class and understated flash. Without being too loud, Pistachio is definitely a fun color youu can play-up with your component and accessory choices. Just like its ice cream counterpart, this new flavour is delicious. So Velo Orange have a small announcement – Neutrinos are back in stock! And this go-around they have a cool new colour, a green we’re calling Pistachio.
